I hate pollution. It makes me really angry. I think pollution is greed. People don’t care about the environment so they pollute the air just to make lots of money. Big companies are the worst. They pretend they’re not polluting. They have the money to say they are “green”. Pollution affects us all. We are all less healthy because of companies that pollute the air or our rivers. Everybody needs to think about how we can reduce the amount of pollution we create. Not using the car when we can walk is one way. Turning off lights we don’t need is another. Barack Obama says he’s going to do his best to help the Earth. I really hope he does because if pollution gets any worse, we’ll be in seriously big trouble.

While many sights in Viet Nam are hardly known to tourists, some farmers in the Mekong Delta have attracted hundreds of foreign vistors to their ecological gardens. Ba Duc, O Hau and Tien Giang province is one example. Before 2000, no visitors spent more than 15 minutes at his house, and very few tourists returned for a second visit. Then Ba Duc had an idea. He thought if tourists had more activities to do while visiting his house, they would stay longer. He then turned his 2.5-hectare farm into an ecological garden, with a fish pond where tourists can go fishing. His wife started cooking home-made meals for the visitors and even teaching them how to cook local specialities. At present, Ba Duc welcomes around 100 visitors a day.

Similarly, Tu Binh of Vinh Long Province turned his 2.1-hectare fish pond into an ecotourism destination in 2005. Tourists can now catch fish in the pond, but then they have to release the small ones back into the pond. He also kept several exotic birds and raised some African ostriches. Bird watching and ostrich riding became very popular activities for tourists to enjoy on his farm. Tu Binh now runs a very successful ecotourism business with around 300 visitors every day.

Câu 5. Số lượng khách du lịch giảm mạnh. => sai

Thông tin: The number of tourists is also rocketing.

Tourism has changed a lot over the past few decades. It is actually quite a new thing. It probably didn’t exist fifty years ago. The only people who travelled then were rich, and they were called travelers. I guess tourism started in the late 60s and early 70s when airplane travel became cheap. The idea of foreign travel suddenly became very popular with millions. Everyone wanted their two weeks of sun in the summer. Tourism today is a multi-billion-dollar industry. There is hardly a corner of the Earth untouched by tourism. The number of tourists is also rocketing. Millions of people from Russia, India and China are now taking vacations. Tourism really is making the world a global village. I’m not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
