Unit 3: WHAT’S DAY IS IT TODAY?

Lesson 2: part 1-2-3

I. Objectives:

After the lesson, students are able to:

- Ask and answer the questions about weekly activities.

- Complete the timetable of their own.

- Develop: speaking skills.

- Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves.

- Studious and obedient students and love their friends.

II. Language focus:

- Vocabulary: English.

- Sentence patterns: What do you do on( name of the day)? I... in the morning/ in the afternoon..

III. Teaching aids:

1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.

2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

IV. Procedures

1. Class organization:- Greeting

- Checking for the students' attendance.

2. Oral test:- Have pupils say about days of the week.

Warm up: - Have ss sing the song on page 19.

1. Look,listen and repeat.

- Have ss look at the picture.

- Introduce the dialogue: They are going to listen to children & Miss Hien talking about days of the week.

- Play the CD for the ss.

- Play again, have ss listen and repeat, focus on some words.

- Present the way to ask questions about weekly activities.

- Have ss read the dialogue.

- Check some groups.

2. Point and say

- Have ss look at the picture

- Give the meaning of new words.

- Call some ss to read.

- Do the task with a student.

- Have ss work in pair ask and answer about weekly activities.

- Check ss.

3. Let’s talk

- Say: “ You are going to practice answering the question “What day is it today?

- Have Ss work in pairs to practice.

- Call some pairs to talk in front of the class.

Reinforcement and homelink:

- Say days of the week.

- Ask Ss to do Ex in Part E.

- Sing in chorus.

- Give out and check.

- Identify the characters and what they are doing.
