1. Câu hỏi chi tiết trong đoạn văn (detail questions):

Dùng phương pháp scan (đọc kỹ) xác định từ khóa, tìm từ khóa trong bài đọc để khoanh vùng phạm vi thông tin, đọc kỹ và đối chiếu với các đáp án để chọn ra đáp án đúng nhất.

2. Chi tiết được nhắc đến trong bài (stated detail questions)

+ Dùng phương pháp scan (đọc kỹ) xác định từ khóa, tìm từ khóa trong bài đọc để khoanh vùng phạm vi thông tin, đọc kỹ và đối chiếu với các đáp án để chọn ra đáp án đúng nhất.

4. Từ được thay thế trong bài

+ Thường thì đó là những đại từ “it”, “them” hoặc “that”, “this” ...

+ Chắc chắn từ được thay thế sẽ nằm ở đoạn thông tin trước đó.

+ Xác định từ được thay thế là danh từ số ít hay số nhiều.

+ Khoanh vùng lựa chọn trong chính câu đó hoặc câu trước.

+ Đọc kĩ câu có chứa từ thay thế và lựa chọn đáp án.

Ví dụ: ... “I love flowers in my garden. I usually pick them in the morning.”

“them” sẽ thay thế cho 1 danh từ số nhiều ở trước đó => flowers
