I absolutely love being able to completely change my environment on a regular basis. Every city or country has it’s positive and negative aspects. Rotating between many places allows you to experience the best that each place has to offer. (Food, weather, culture, friends, etc.)
Moving to a new place is also a great opportunity to reset. Our routines, peers, family, culture and other social factors have a major influence on our lives. Going to a new country immediately frees us from those constraints. Most people don’t understand how much their culture influences them. I feel so much more energetic, creative and happy everytime I change locations. It feels good to always experience new things.
The biggest factor for me though, is the social environment. Long-term travelers are much more open-minded and less materialistic, in my opinion, so my best friends are the ones I’ve met in other countries. I relate to them much better than people in my home country. Travelers and expats seem to make more time for conversation and connecting. Everyone seems too busy doing nothing back home.
