Tet, as known as the Lunar New Year holiday is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. Tet usually occurs at the end of January or at the beginning of February. Tet holiday often lasts for 7 - 9 days. Before Tet, all family members clean and clear all the house and the garden. They also decorate the house with parallel sentences and peach or apricot blossoms. During Tet, some families enjoy this festival by preparing traditional food such as Vietnamese square cake, dried candied fruit, braised pork, eggs, etc. Especially children, they look forward to Tet holiday because they can receive lucky money from adults as a way to give them wishes for the new year. For all Vietnamese, Tet is an occasion for them to the reunion after 12-month working hard outside. That is the time to have family gatherings and welcome the new year with many blessings.

"Tet Nguyen Dan" is a national holiday. It starts from about the beginning of January to the middle of January of the lunar calendar .This is an opportunity for all Vietnamese to have a good time thinking about the old year and the next year.Tet is the place where the family gathers with the family, eats banh chung and watches fireworks to welcome a new year.Everyone is excited, apricot blossoms and peach blossoms fill the yard, the village opens a singing festival. During Tet, spring fairs are held, streets and public facilities are brightly decorated, and most shops are crowded with Tet shoppers. At home, everything is cleaned, traditional dishes, other dishes, soft drinks, flowers and betel nut are placed on the ancestral altar along with incense sticks. Groundbreaking is done when a lucky guest comes to visit and the children receive money to celebrate the new year in red envelopes. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children usually behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year

Bắt đầu từ khoảng đầu tháng Giêng đến giữa tháng Giêng Âm lịch, là dịp để người Việt Nam có dịp nghĩ về năm cũ và năm tới, là nơi sum họp của gia đình. cùng nhau ăn bánh chưng và xem pháo hoa để chào đón một năm mới. Ai cũng náo nức, hoa mai, hoa đào nở đầy sân, làng mở hội hát. Trong dịp Tết, các hội chợ xuân được tổ chức, đường phố và các công trình công cộng được trang hoàng rực rỡ, hầu hết các cửa hàng đều tấp nập người mua sắm Tết. Ở nhà, mọi thứ đều được dọn dẹp sạch sẽ, các món ăn truyền thống, các món ăn khác, nước ngọt, hoa và trầu cau được đặt lên bàn thờ tổ tiên cùng với bát nhang. Động thổ được thực hiện khi có khách may mắn đến thăm và con cháu được lì xì trong phong bao lì xì mừng năm mới. Tết cũng là khoảng thời gian dành cho sự bình yên và yêu thương. Trong ngày Tết, trẻ em thường cư xử tốt và bạn bè, họ hàng, làng xóm dành cho nhau những lời chúc tốt đẹp nhất cho năm mới
