An invention is a unique or novel device, method, composition or process. The invention process is a process within an overall engineering and product development process. It may be an improvement upon a machine or product or a new process for creating an object or a result. 

The invention of the Internet is considered one of the most important and significant ones among these. Unlike technologies such as the light bulb or the telephone, the internet has no single “inventor.” Instead, it has evolved over time. The internet got its start in the United States more than 50 years ago as a government weapon in the Cold War. For years, scientists and researchers used it to communicate and share data with one another. Today, we use the internet for almost everything, and for many people, it would be impossible to imagine life without it.

It can be said that smartphone is one of the greatest inventions in the 20th century, because no other device at that moment had appeared that much in the daily life of people. Today, most people cannot even imagine the life without smartphones. Maybe they can walk to work, eat cold food without heating them in the microwave, reading books instead of watching TV, but they can never let go of their smartphones. The first device that technically qualifies as a smartphone was just a highly sophisticated brick phone. It was called The Simon phone, and people could by it with the price up to 4000 US dollars. Although Simon only sold 50,000 units and lasted for about six months on the market, it certainly paved the way for the others. In 1996, Nokia introduced the Nokia 9000 Communicator, and it was considered as one of the first smartphones. In 2007, the whole concept about smartphones had changed completely with the first IPhone. Apple’s device was innovative in many ways, both in technology and design. On the other hand, Google’s Android had a much slower start. However; in the year of 2012, Android officially ruled the smartphone market all over the world. Even though other companies have tried to enter the race, such as Nokia and Microsoft with Windows Mobile; iOS and Android continue to dominate the market. In conclusion, for anyone who was not old enough to remember life before smartphones, it would be very hard to live in a world without them.
