One of the most devastating natural calamities is flooding. It occurs when an excessive amount of water collects in a certain location. It frequently happens when there is a lot of rain. Floods are common in Central Vietnam, causing a slew of problems and losses for the people who live there. During floods, the availability of food and supplies is also constrained. The floods of Central Vietnam in 2020 have caused widespread devastation. Three floods, four storms, and a series of landslides devastated central Vietnam in October and early November 2020, killing 159 people and leaving 71 missing. Not only the government, but also numerous citizens from other cities, helped Central Vietnam in a variety of ways. To avoid future flood damage, several afforestation operations have been carried out. Rainwater is absorbed and stored by trees, resulting in less runoff and sediment deposit during storms. Furthermore, an effective mechanism for storing surplus rainwater should be in place. I hope that in the future, floods will have less and fewer impacts.

We all know that natural disasters happen all over the world, and they can be utterly devastating for people’s lives and the environments we live in. There are many different natural causes leading to natural disasters, and being aware of these causes enables us to be better prepared when they do arrive. One of the most common natural disasters is flooding, which occurs when a river bursts its banks and the water spills out onto the floodplain. During wet periods, flood warnings are often put in place because of a great deal of heavy rain. There are other risk factors for flooding that we have to mention such as steep-sided channels cause fast surface run-off, the lack of vegetation and woodland break the flow of water. In other words, there is little to slow the floodwater down.
