Tet falls on a time when the old year is over and the New year comes by lunar calendar.  Tet is also the tiem when the cycle of the universe finishes: winter ands and spring the seson of birth of all living things, come.Exactly, Tet fall on the 30th day of the twelfth lunar month of the previous year to the 3rd day of the first lunar month of the New year.
On the 3rd day of the twelfth month by lunar calendar, there is a rite to see Tao Quan ( Kitchen God) off.

Before Tet holiday, there are lots of things to do. People from places go back to their hometown, gather with their family. They clean up the house, decorate it with flowers, plants and other kinds of decorations. Then parties are held everywhere to celebrate the end of the year. Food preparation is also conducted at this time of the year. Feasts will be prepared and presented to the altar. This is a very busy time for many people in the year. On Tet, some people go to the pagodas to pray and complete the ritual ceremonies of the year. People visit relatives' house and give best wishes. I enjoy the atmosphere a lot. I am looking forward to Tet because I receive some lucky money. After Tet, adults are back to work and children go to school. The first day at the offices or schools, everyone celebrates small parties in order to make people happy. In each family, there is lots of food because we prepare too much for Tet.
