   The unique feature of the Huong pagoda festival is the pleasure of sitting on a boat and wandering into a paradise of Buddha. And up to now, the boat festival at Huong pagoda has always created a strong inspiration for people going to the festival.

  Hằng năm, mỗi độ xuân về hoa mơ nở trắng núi rừng Hương Sơn, hàng triệu phật tử cùng tao nhân mặc khách khắp bốn phương lại nô nức trẩy hội chùa Hương.
      Hội chùa Hương diễn ra trên địa bàn xã Hương Sơn, trong địa phận huyện Mỹ Đức, tỉnh Hà Tây. Trên những triền núi cao thấp, những rừng cây, rừng mơ.... là những đoàn người nô nức chảy hội. Bộ trang phục của họ thật đẹp với những khuôn mặt rạng rỡ. Ngày 6 tháng Giêng là ngày khai hội. Đỉnh cao của lễ hội là Rằm tháng Giêng đến 18 tháng 2 Âm lịch.
     Lễ hội chùa Hương trong phần lễ thực hiện rất đơn giản. Trước ngày mở hội một ngày, tất cả các đền chùa, đình, miếu đều khói hương nghi ngút, không khí lễ hội dường như bao trùm cả xã Hương Sơn. Ngày hội làng tổ chức rước thần từ đền ra đình, cờ trống đi trước dàn nhạc bát âm kế theo, trai thanh gái lịch phù kiệu, ông già bà cả thành tâm tiễn thần. Không khí ấy làm cho mọi người sảng khoái. Trong suốt những ngày lễ hội kẻ đi ra, người đi vào, kẻ đi lên người đi xuống bồng bềnh vào những đám mây nhẹ. Họ hẹn gặp nhau quen hay không quen cũng vui vẻ chào nhau bằng một lời chào: "Nam mô a di đà phật" nhẹ nhàng đằm thắm và ấm áp. Vào những ngày tổ chức lễ hội chùa Hương tấp nập vào ra hàng trăm thuyền.
      Nét độc đáo của hội chùa Hương là thú vui ngồi thuyền vãng cảnh lạc vào non tiên cõi phật. Và đến nay ngày hội bơi thuyền ở chùa Hương luôn tạo cảm hứng mãnh liệt cho người đi hội.
