Every family has their own traditions and my family is not an exception. We usually celebrate all traditional holidays and family occasions together. Specially, on Tet holiday, my brother will come back home from his work before Tet few days to help my mother clean and decorate the house. My sister will not hang out with her friends on New Year's Eve to celebrate and welcome the moment with our family. We will have reunion meal together. That is my family's tradition.

Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year

Tết là một lễ hội quốc gia và gia đình. Đây là một dịp để mọi người Việt Nam có một khoảng thời gian vui vẻ khi nghĩ về năm cuối cùng và năm tiếp theo. Vào dịp Tết, hội chợ mùa xuân được tổ chức, đường phố và các tòa nhà công cộng được trang trí rực rỡ và hầu như tất cả các cửa hàng đều chật cứng người mua sắm cho Tết. Bước chân đầu tiên được thực hiện khi vị khách may mắn đến và trẻ em được nhận tiền may mắn được bọc trong một phong bì nhỏ màu đỏ. Tết cũng là thời gian cho hòa bình và tình yêu.
