There are so many talented artists nowadays that it isn’t an easy task to pick one of them as my favorite. But I’d like to talk about Sam Smith, a recent world’s phenomenon. Sam Smith is a young English pop singer – songwriter who rose to fame back in 2012 with single “Latch”, which peaked at number 7 on US Billboard Hot 100 and that’s how I found out about him. Since then, he has released several other hit songs, one of which, “Stay with me” won him 4 Grammy Awards last month. Most of Sam Smith’s songs are sad break-up songs which, according to him, tell about the story between him and his ex-boyfriend. Besides the fact that Sam Smith is an extremely talented singer who has a great voice, I find his music very touching and inspirational. He’s a gay man and he’s not afraid to show who he is through his music. I think that’s the reason why his music is popular. He stays true to himself and inspires others to do the same.

I don’t have too many friends. However, I am very lucky to have a close friend. Her name is Huong. We have been friends for 10 years. She has a very lovely figure. She is short but not fat. She has fair skin and red lips. She has big and round eyes. I really like her eyes. Huong is a girl who likes simplicity. She doesn’t dress fancy. She knows how to care for and help others. Huong is a thoughtful girl. She cooks very well. In her free time, she would make snacks for me and my friends to eat together. She is a good listener. When things are sad, I tell her. Talking with her I felt very comfortable. I am very happy to have a close friend of hers.

I have a nuclear family that comprises my father, mother and a younger sister. Out of all these people, I spend a majority of my time with my sister. She is a thoughtful and considerate person. I have been taking care of her since the time she was born. So, we have spent a lot of time learning together and exploring new things. With time, she became my best friend. I can rely on her and trust her blindly. We share our interests with each other, career plans, and good or bad experiences. Not just that, but now that she has grown up, we also share our love lives. But that doesn’t mean we don’t fight. We fight like cats and dogs, sometimes verbally and other times – physically. When not outside, we are usually together the entire day. We read books together and watch movies or web series. Whenever I don’t feel good, she is always there to encourage me. We admire each other and sometimes follow footsteps as well. Although younger, sometimes, she says a few things that sound extremely logical and intellectual. She is a constant reminder that I must put my best foot forward for whatever I do. She wants to become an actress and I am leaving no stone unturned in helping her fulfil this dream. I just hope she realizes that she is extremely special to me. Also, even if we go separate ways a few years down the lane, we have promised each other that we will stay in touch and talk every day.

Well, it’s really hard for me to choose one family member that I admire because, you know, I love and admire them all equally. But if I had to choose one, it would have to be my dad. You know, my dad is a very hard-working person. He gets up pretty early, at about 5 and 5:30 every morning. He often has quick breakfast and then goes to the farm. He normally works 10 or 12 hours a day on the farm. You know, farming for a living is hard work, especially during summer time, when the temperature can go up to nearly 40 degrees which is extremely hot. Working outdoors in this condition is a nightmare. Although my dad has to work super hard to support the family, I’ve never heard him complain about hard work or things like that. That’s the first reason why I really admire him. And the second thing that I want to talk about is that my dad is a very dedicated husband and father. He always puts his family first. I feel like he’s willing to do everything to make his wife and children smile. Although he has to work super hard during the day, he always makes time for me and my brothers and sisters. I’ve learned a great deal from my dad. You know, being a farmer’s daughter, I understand the value of hard work. My dad is always a good role model for me. Actually, there are so many things that I could talk about, but I know that I don’t have enough time for it. So if I had to choose one family member that I admire the most, I would talk about my dad.

I consider myself lucky to get several very good teachers throughout my academic years. Among them, I’d like to talk about Mr Smith who was an extraordinary teacher, a really good mentor and who has a great influence in my education. I met Mr Smith when I was in class 4 and he was our math teacher. Initially, we thought that he would be a moody teacher and we would have to be very polite in front of him. This impression came mostly because of his serious face and tidy dress-up. But soon we found that he is a very friendly person and teaches us very well. He never made things complicated and tried over and over again to explain something to us. He had a unique way of teaching. Seems like he would start an interesting story and later we would find that he would relate the math to the story. Thus everything we learned from him was interesting and that’s why we remember most of the theory and techniques of math he taught us. I’d say he has a great influence in my education because he made a very strong foundation on Mathematics. Later on, I studied Science and Mathematics was the most important subject. I have always been good at math and that’ mainly because of Mr Smith who had a major role in making the subject interesting to me. Before I learned math from Mr Smith, my impression on math was not good and I considered mathematics to be a very difficult and uninteresting subject. But his teaching and influences changed my way of thinking about math and later on math became my one the most favourite subject.

There are different types of people who live in the world together and they are featured with diversified characters. I have met John, a man of fun, who is my childhood friend. He is the man who will make anyone feel comfortable with his companion and no one cannot stop laughing hearing his jokes and the way he talks. Basically, he is a computer engineer by profession and loves to travel. He is filled with vast experiences of traveling in different parts of the world. he is always the center of attraction whenever he starts talking. anyone around him never gets bored due to his sense of humor. Sometimes he cracks a joke with a very serious expression and people get serious about the joke. also When I become stressed for my work or for any other matter, I share my imbalanced mental and emotional states with him to get some advice to overcome the complexities. But before I complete the statements, he provides the solutions and it amazes me most that is the thing I really like about him.

“Now I’d like to talk about a friend that I really like to spend my time with, whose name is Windy, one of my best friends who had great influence on me during my university years. Well, first of all I think I should start my mentioning the situation how I know Wendy. I met her the very first day of my university period when we was waiting for our mentor to come. I was very shy coz that was the first time I’d been in the city and Wendy was the one who broke the ice to talk to me in such an incredibly friendly way that made me killed to be her best mate and it turned out not only did we become soul mates but we also ended up being flatmates for more than 4 years. As we have many common interests so when we get together, we often do things that we both enjoy like eating, shopping and travelling. Or sometime just simple happiness of lying next to each other in the Central Park and confide about daily stuff, which makes us realize how much we were on the same page. Finally, if I still have time, I want to talk about the reason why I like spending time with her. Firstly because of the positive vibes that I feel out of her. She is one of the persons, rather the first person in my life whom I have met having a very positive attitude towards the life, I mean, I always found her in jubilant mood in spite of the fact that she had a very troublesome incident in her life, which has contributed a lot in the way I have started looking at life. I believe that I’ll become more broad minded and tolerant thanks to her. Secondly, Wendy is the good friend who always extends her helping hands when I’m in need, I mean she is the sounding board when I have problems, when I feel under the weather. All in all, good friendship, understanding and common interests makes us close friends and those are the major factors for what I like to spend time with her.”

If I have a chance, I’d like to visit Da Lat. Da Lat is the coolest place in Viet Nam, with an average temperature around 20-25 degree annually. Located in the Lam Vien highland, Da Lat is famous for its cool weather, various types of flower and romantic scenes. Visiting Da Lat, I will visit its pine forests, flowers garden, vintage houses and stores,.. Besides, enjoying the local cuisine attracts me a lot. Xuan Huong lake and Da Lat market are among the most common places in Da Lat for visitors to come. Also, you can see the French architecture in the houses and villas in Da Lat, which has been built nearly 100 years ago. Valleys, lakes, mountains and hills are known as the symbols of Da Lat, Suoi Vang valley, Love valley, Suoi Vang lake, Langbiang mountain are the ideal destinations to have a rest and escape from the city’s noise. They are also the places that many music videos were filmed and gained reputation. Because of its peace, breathtaking views and natural beauty , Da Lat is listed one of the most expected attractions in Viet Nam. I have never been there, but I always dream of coming there once of my life. I believe that, one day, I can put my step there, breath fresh air and enjoy the peace.

When it comes to a holiday of a lifetime that I would like to have in the future, a journey with my family to Da Lat city is my first choice. This city is a tourist attraction located in the south of Vietnam. As I have read on many articles about this city, it has a really peaceful atmosphere, the pace of life is quite slow and local people are so friendly and cosmopolitan. Therefore, I really want to have a chance paying a visit to this place with my family. About my itinerary if this dream comes true, when we come here, we can have a valuable chance to go sightseeing and enjoy the stunning beauty of this mountainous city. We will go to Da Lat flower garden which has gained its reputation for a variety of flowers from the light pink of lotus to the striking red of roses. Furthermore, the local dishes are so special, so we will also spend some time sampling them. At night, we can go for a walk to local market to experience the nightlife here and buy some souvenirs for our relatives and friends. To me, visiting Da Lat is my dream because of two main reasons. Firstly, the place we plan to go to is extremely beautiful and we can enjoy a different atmosphere as well as lifestyle in a different place. We can escape from the hustle and bustle of the rat race in Hanoi. Secondly, it would be a chance for our family to reunite after a long year to gain a close-knit relationship. However, finance seems to be a problem to my now, so I’m working my fingers to the bone to make our plan come true.

One of the most interesting places I have ever come to was Hoi An ancient town. Located in Quang Nam, a central region of Vietnam. This place attracts hordes of tourists every year to come and enjoy the wonderful time in Hoi An. I went to Hoi An about 5 years ago when I graduated from university. At that time, I never thought I could have a wonderful experience in here. Hoi An is really a holiday destination for everyone who love the breathtaking view and the atmosphere. Every house in Hoi An left me with some memories about the past and also reminded everyone how prosperous the town had. I visited Hoi An ancient town because I was craving for sampling the local food in here. The cuisine of central region was so different from other regions. Although I and my buddies had initially planned on which places to visit, I always ended up going off the beaten track there were too many interesting places to explore. The weather was also a factor which made me love this place much. I believed the cool weather of Hoi An would dispel the heat of summer in southern area. I really enjoyed my time in Hoi An ancient town. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, and if I have enough money, I will gladly have another trip back to this town.

At the moment I’m studying English at the University in Cagliari. I’m in a class with more or less fifty students. They’re nice and they come from different towns. Our teacher’s name’s Giacomina. She’s from Avellino, Italy but she lives in Isili, Sardinia. She’s funny and she’s a very good teacher. She speaks English very well! I enjoy my English lessons, especially the pronounciation practice. I’m not very good at English, but I hope to improve the language.

I'd like to talk about my favorite cafe. Its name is The zoo kafein. It is located on Y Ngong street, house number 140. It is only about 700 meters from my house so I often go there by motorbike, sometimes I walk there. If I go there by motorbike, it only takes 5 minutes. That cafe is located on the main road so it is relatively easy to find. On the right side it has a big tree and on the left side there is a sign of the cafe. It has only one floor but it is beautifully decorated especially in the exterior. The outside space of that cafe is very wide. It has an aquarium, a room for raising pets and the surrounding is decorated with many kinds of plants and flowers. It can be said that it is a great space to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or drinks. This is my favorite place in the cafe. I really like this cafe not only because of the beautiful scenery, delicious drinks but also because the pets here are very lovely and friendly. I can play with them while chatting with my friends. Here I feel extremely comfortable, happy and relaxed after a tiring day. Thank you for reading!
