I'm writing to inform you that I will be unable to attend the class for the next two weeks due to an accident in which I injured my back. I'm afraid I'll have to request an extension for next week's essay as well.

I'm taking pain medication, but I can't get out of bed or walk around much, and the doctor advised me to stay in bed and relax as much as possible. This is making reading and studying really tough for me right now. I've included a copy of the doctor's note, and I expect to return to class on June 20.
My friend will record the lectures till then so I may listen to them at home. I'll attempt to catch up on all of my reading as well. However, I do not believe I will be able to submit the essay next week. Is it feasible to get a postponement?
