Viet Nam is one of the ASEAN members. It shares its land borders with China to the north, and Laos and Cambodia to the west and has 310.060 square kilometers. With an estimated 94.6 million inhabitants as of 2016, it is the 15th most populous country in the world.  Its capital city is Hanoi, while its most populous city is Ho Chi Minh City. The culture of Vietnam is varied with 54 ethnic groups, lying all over the country. It indicates that Vietnam was inhabited as early as the Paleolithic age with the history of over 4000 years. Modern Vietnam was born upon the Declaration of Independence from France in 1945 and  was officially named the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
