Hello guys, my name is...., I am..... years old. I live with my family in .................. Today, I want to share with you about tet holiday in my hometown. Last year, i had a peaceful Tet. What events happend before Tet? That's right! It was New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, after my grandfather finished burning incense to his ancestors, I go to the roof top with my family to watch and set off fireworks. fireworks exploding sounds so pleasing to the ears. The next day, I went with my parents to the temple to workship the old people to ask for the New Year's fortune. After going to the temple, my family went to wish my relatives New Year's Eve. I receivied a lunch of lucky money but my mom said: give me the moneys, I will keep it for you=)). End of a Happy New Year's party. I wish you a happy New Year

Tet holiday or Lunar new year is the biggest traditional festival in Vietnam. It usually starts in late January to the early February. It's time for a family reunion.

Before Tet, people usually decoration houses with led light. In the north of Vietnam, people have peach blossom and kumquat but in the south of Vietnam, people have apricot blossom.  On the altar, all families put chrysanthemums and five-fruit trays on it. In front of the house, most people decorate the couplets. People also buy new clothes like Ao Dai and buy a lot of flowers. Some food ingredients that people often buy to cooking such as Chung cakes, spring rolls, Vietnamese sausages, candied fruits,... People watch the kitchen god on TV on the 30th day of Tet. On New Year's Eve, people also watch fireworks display.  During Tet, people especially children wear new clothes, visit relatives, friends, or neighbors to celebrate the new year. Children get lucky money from parents and grandparents. My grandparents go to pagodas to pray for good health. Some families do ancestor worshiping rituals and visit graves of our ancestors.

People believe what happens at the first day of the year will affect the rest of that year. Some taboos on the Tet holiday are: sweeping the house on the first day of the New Year, let black cats into the house, eating shrimp, eating octopus, ...

Tet holiday is meaning full occasion for every Vietnamese people for a family reunion. I love Tet very much.
