Today I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday. It usually occurs at the end of January and lasts 3 days. Most Vietnamese families consider the Tet holiday as one of the most important holidays in the year, therefore the celebration of Tet is meticulously prepared. People often decorate the house with parallel sentences and peach or apricot blossoms and put a five-fruit tray on the altar to worship the ancestor. Some of the most common dishes in Tet are Vietnamese square cake, dried candied fruit, braised pork, spring rolls, etc. Tet holiday is a special occasion for people to gather and unite and it's one of the most sacred festivals to Vietnamese.
