1. I think, the current family trend in Viet Nam is nuclear family including parents and their children living under the same roof.
2. People prefer nuclear family trend because:
- Children are more close to the parents and can have more free and frank discussion about their problems with parents which helps for the better development of their personality.
- In nuclear families the condition of woman is better than joint families. She gets enough time to look after her children.
- Family planning programme becomes successful in nuclear families. The members of nuclear family have to plan and limit their family as they have to bear all the responsibilities and expenses themselves to rear their children.
- In nuclear families there is no misunderstanding and they enjoy a harmonious atmosphere by living together.
- In nuclear family there is no shifting of responsibility like in joint family. The parents are bound to take responsibility of their children by themselves.
3. For me, children are not happier growing up in an extended family, because an extended family with many generations and family members is more complicated and has more problems than a nuclear family.
1. In Vietnam, living in a nuclear family is the current family trend.
2. There are many reasons which lead to this trend. The most important one is the family finance. If they bear too many daughters and sons, they will not be able to raise them up well. The fewer number of family members, the less money they have to spend. Moreover, living in a nuclear family means you don't need to suffer from many gaps between generations.
3. I am not really happy living in a nuclear family, so children may feel happier growing up in an extended family, I guess. Having more people means children have more chances to talk and play. They will never feel lonely as there are always family members around them.
