Các hoạt động nhằm mục đích tuyên truyền về quá trình thành lập, xây dựng, đấu tranh và phát triển của tỉnh Hà Tĩnh trong 190 năm qua (1831 – 2021), đặc biệt sau là 30 năm tái lập tỉnh (1991 - 2021). Khẳng định, tôn vinh các giá trị truyền thống lịch sử, văn hóa và cách mạng của con người Hà Tĩnh trong công cuộc đổi mới và hội nhập quốc tế.

Để kỷ niệm 190 năm thành lập (1831 - 2021), 30 năm tái lập tỉnh (1991 - 2021), Hà Tĩnh sẽ tổ chức các hoạt động: Soạn thảo, in ấn và ban hành tài liệu tuyên truyền kỷ niệm; Họp báo tuyên truyền và làm việc với các Bộ, ngành Trung ương về phối hợp tổ chức các hoạt động kỷ niệm; Hội thảo khoa học cấp tỉnh “Hà Tĩnh – Hành trình 190 năm xây dựng và phát triển”; Tổ chức cuộc thi sáng tác các ca khúc về Hà Tĩnh; Tổ chức Cuộc thi tìm hiểu về 190 năm thành lập và 30 năm tái lập tỉnh; Tổ chức triển lãm ảnh nghệ thuật “Hà Tĩnh – những chặng đường lịch sử”; triển lãm “Lịch sử hình thành và phát triển tỉnh Hà Tĩnh qua tài liệu lưu trữ”;
